a film shot one step at a time
300km, on foot, with the person i love
my girlfriend and i set out to walk the Camino de Santiago — hundreds of kilometres, start to finish, on foot. no crew, no fixer, no safety net. just the road, our packs, and each other. the plan was simple: walk every day, film every day, and let the pilgrimage be the story.
Porto to Santiago, hugging the atlantic
the coastal way of the Camino Portugués — north out of Porto, up the atlantic edge, across the Río Miño at the border, then inland after Padrón to Santiago de Compostela. roughly 300km, walked in 10 days.
one camera, one GoPro, zero days off
we carried a proper camera for the considered shots, and rigged a GoPro to the chest for everything else — every sunrise, every blister, every conversation. it ran from the first step to the last, batteries swapped three times a day so it never went dark. by the end: 100+ hours of raw footage — the whole walk, uncut.
hours of footage, one film about pilgrims
not a travel vlog — a documentary about pilgrims: the people we walked beside, the rhythm of the road, what a few hundred kilometres does to two people who choose to do it together. right now it's 100+ hours in a bin, waiting to become something much shorter.
stills off the camera, before the edit
the cut isn't done, but the walk left proof it happened — frames straight off the camera roll, Porto to Santiago. tap any photo to open it.
the film is in post-production — full case coming. ← back to the work
