a German promotion, one hard date
79 Events GmbH run champions fight night — a professional fight gala in Freiburg. for the 10th edition — Freiburg gegen den rest — they needed the whole night captured and packaged: backstage, the walkouts, the fights, and a set of visuals sharp enough for a full arena. one venue, one date, no second take: 26 july 2025, SICK Arena — Messe Freiburg.
one crew, the whole event
i ran the production together with Seva from Hamburg. we set up to cover everything — backstage filming, the media day with the fighters, and production support for the live broadcast (i helped run the stream during the weigh-in). not one camera in the crowd — a crew making sure every walkout, every fight and every reaction landed on tape, ready to cut.
visuals made for the jumbotron
the arena's centre screen is a giant suspended cube — every fighter, every matchup shown huge over the ring. i prepared the big-screen visuals: a matchup card for each bout, plus the animated versions — a full run: 20 matchup cards and 20 animated cuts, one per fight of the night, all in one consistent look built to read from the back row.
3,000 in the room
on the night, the arena filled — 3,000 people under the lights, the cube jumbotron live over the ring, the walkouts hitting. this is the frame that says it best: a fighter coming to the ring, the matchup up in lights above him.
