a stand against boring marketing, turned into a brand
it started on the training mat, not in a boardroom
Leo — a close friend — founded this one. we train together, our families are close, we spend a lot of time in each other's corner. the idea came while we were already working side by side on Hey Coach: he wanted to build his own creative studio here in Germany.
Leo's edge is short-form video — that's exactly where the partnership clicked. i came in to do what i do best: help him get the idea onto the market — support, not a bystander. one studio, one thing done better than anyone.
why we called it “no marketing”
the name showed up in a car. mid-conversation, one of us said it out loud — “no marketing” — and it stuck before we could talk ourselves out of it.
it's a stance, not a joke. for most small and mid-size businesses, marketing had quietly become a joyless monthly chore — a box to tick, a task you grind through because it's supposed to bring a number at the end. we wanted the opposite: work the owner actually enjoys. a process that gives them a bit of distance to step back and see their own business from the outside — and that only happens when the creative is the point, not the formula.
so we do it backwards from the generic playbook. no templated campaigns, no marketing that looks like marketing. the mission was baked into the name: if it doesn't feel good to make, it isn't ours.
twenty-six tries to get to one monogram
the colour was never in doubt — orange, because that's the energy we bring to the work. the mark had to carry it: an nm monogram, folded like a ribbon so the n and the m read as one continuous move. we commissioned the brand design from Andrey — 20+ years in design — and built it together, skin after skin. we did not land it on the first try.
we ran it across every skin we could think of: dark, orange field, light, ghosted, spelled all the way out, collapsed to two letters. same idea, twenty-six times, hunting for the one that felt inevitable.

then one of them stopped feeling like a draft. the orange n folding into a steel-white m, resting on charcoal — clean, a little bit fast, unmistakably ours — thanks, Andrey.

a home for the work — built on Framer
off the back of the mark, we designed the whole brand world and shipped it as a site. we split the work, but most of the visuals and creative were built from scratch — no theme, no shortcut. it went from blank canvas to live in about a month, fully on Framer, and it's online now: clean, quick, and honest about what we do.

the site carries three ways to work with us:
this is what “no marketing” actually looks like
a name and a mark are just promises. the showreel is where we keep them. this is the studio's craft cut into one reel — the short-form energy the whole thing is built around, shot and finished in-house, in 4k.
if a brand can make you stop scrolling and just watch — that's the whole point. no templates, no filler. just work someone loved making.
watch on YouTube ↗live, and already working
the site's up, the marketing strategy is set, and NoMarketing is already producing for German clients — EOS Erleben among them. next up is the content engine for our own channels. an honest start, and it's real.
online now — nomarketing-agentur.de is live and open for clients.
marketing that looks like marketing gets scrolled past. the work people remember is the work someone actually loved making — and that's the whole promise in the name.
